The Riverway Driving Range Complex developed by the City of Burnaby is located south of Marine Drive off Bryne Road. The complex includes a 60-bay, 2-level driving range, 75-seat coffee shop, 2,700 sq. ft. pro shop and washroom / locker facilities located within the first 9-hole of the future 18-hole golf course.

These facilities are located to function within the constraints of the golf course yet provide a rural village atmosphere focused around the first tee and the driving range. The coffee shop, its terraces and the courtyard overlook the ‘activity’ and provide the opportunity for a lingering finale around the fireplace or a quick break between holes.

The exposed timber construction and use of simple natural materials such as board and batten siding, wood shingle roofs and metal roofed walkways suggests a charm and ease which is quietly compatible with the rural environment and the aspirations of the clients to provide a ‘comfortable’ unpretentious facility for the community.

The overall concept for this project includes the completed 18-hole golf course and a future clubhouse/banquet facility to be situated on the lagoon, a site which offers splendid views over this water feature to the 18th hole as well as the 1st tee.
